2. Scope of This Policy

  • training and assessment materials
  • learner guides
  • assessor guides
  • mapping documents
  • RPL kits
  • LLN/LLND resources
  • policies and procedures
  • templates and supporting documents
  • contextualisation and customisation services
  • customer support relating to compliance-based enquiries

2.2. This policy applies to all staff, contractors, consultants, and service providers involved in the creation, review, update, supply, or support of our resources and services.

3. Resource Development and Review

3.1. We aim to develop resources using a structured process that may include:

  • review of relevant training package requirements
  • review of unit of competency requirements
  • consideration of performance evidence, knowledge evidence, performance criteria, foundation skills, range conditions, and assessment conditions where applicable
  • internal drafting and quality review
  • version control and update management

3.2. We make reasonable efforts to ensure that the resources we supply are suitable for adaptation and implementation by RTOs in their own operating environments.

3.3. While we strive for accuracy and relevance, customers acknowledge that compliance obligations may change over time due to amendments in legislation, standards, training packages, regulator guidance, or industry expectations.

4. Customer Responsibility for Implementation

4.1. Resources supplied by RTO Resources Australia are intended to assist customers in their operations; however, each RTO or training provider remains responsible for:

  • reviewing resources before use
  • contextualising materials to suit their learners, delivery mode, workplace context, and organisational requirements
  • validating assessment practices and tools
  • ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
  • confirming suitability for their scope, qualification packaging rules, and operational model
  • maintaining their own internal policies, procedures, and governance systems

4.2. The purchase or use of our resources does not remove or replace the customer’s responsibility to meet their own compliance obligations.

4.3. Customers should undertake their own review, validation, and compliance checks before implementation.

5. Regulatory and Standards Awareness

5.1. We aim to maintain awareness of relevant compliance frameworks affecting the products and services we provide.

5.2. Depending on the nature of the resource, this may include consideration of:

  • Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)
  • training package and unit of competency requirements
  • principles of assessment
  • rules of evidence
  • learner and assessment record requirements
  • relevant legislative and regulatory expectations
  • good practice guidance within the VET sector

5.3. We may revise, update, or replace products and services where necessary to reflect significant compliance-related changes.

7. Non-Conformance and Corrections

7.1. If a customer identifies a potential error, inconsistency, or compliance concern in a resource supplied by us, they should notify us as soon as possible with relevant details.

7.2. We will review reported issues within a reasonable timeframe and determine whether corrective action is required.

7.3. Corrective action may include:

  • clarification or guidance
  • correction of the content
  • replacement of the affected file
  • issue of an updated version
  • other reasonable remedial action at our discretion

7.4. We reserve the right to determine the nature and extent of any corrective action required.

8. Version Control and Updates

8.1. We maintain version control practices for our resources where applicable.

8.2. From time to time, resources may be updated due to:

  • identified errors or inconsistencies
  • customer feedback
  • changes to units, qualifications, or training packages
  • changes in sector expectations or compliance requirements
  • internal quality improvement processes

8.3. Unless otherwise stated, purchase of a resource does not automatically include unlimited future updates.

8.4. Any updates, replacements, upgrade rights, or access to revised versions will be managed in accordance with the applicable product terms, offer, or policy in place at the time.

  • registration outcomes

  • business outcomes arising from the use of our products or services

10.3. Final responsibility for implementation, contextualisation, validation, and compliance remains with the customer.

11. Breaches of This Policy

11.1. We may review and address any internal failure to follow our compliance-related systems or procedures.

11.2. Where appropriate, corrective action, retraining, process updates, or quality interventions may be implemented to reduce the risk of recurrence.
